*EXCLUSIVE* The Detective Christmas Special 2013

The Cast on set for The Detective Christmas Special 2013

After 4 months in production we can finally reveal that The Detective is back for yet another christmas special.  Scripting on the christmas special began in August as Producer/Writer of the special Lewis Wheelhouse begin writing this special episode. Filming began on Monday the 30th September 2013 on this christmas special and the cast was glad to be back after a small summers break. The production started quite late due to Ryan Denyer AKA the ex-writer of The Detective leaving the writers team and it brought a big challenge to Lewis.

Lewis found this very hard after just starting collage and he had just taken a break from a long summers filming for another big production in which is to remain a secret at this moment in time.  Lewis had got himself into a writers block and due to limited time filming had to begin with a uncompleted script, The risky idea was to film the episode as the script was been written and lucky this worked as it has turned out to be a treat.

After the first few weeks of filming everything was back on track as week after week each scene got completed however another disaster struck in early november as we started to have problems in post production. At the beginning of the year MI10 Media started using a Mac so all of this format was new to the post production team. The new editing program was working fine until coming up to the midway stages of editing on the christmas special as the program began to turn the tables around for the team. For some reason the program kept freezing and freezing and after weeks of editing time wasted the team finally decided to reset the Mac back to it's original self and it worked however a months worth of editing time was lost due to this problem. As the christmas month begins the MI10 Media team are in full swing and the christmas special is in post production. The Team at MI10 Media are so determined to get this christmas special out because it is one of the biggest specials yet with a much bigger cast and crew and all new story.

This Christmas special follows on from last years christmas episode as Detective James is in so much pain after the loss of his sidekick The Translator and not forgetting the abduction of his other sidekick Laura Shapinton. James has been acting strangely as he is walking within the darkest streets in Victorian clothes and his sadness is not known by anyone else apart from Mrs Lyons. Can Mrs Lyons redeem James ambition back before the penny drops.

Casting

Lewis Wheelhouse

Character: Detective James and Colin (from Colin & Barry)

Lewis Wheelhouse will be respiring his role as the main character Detective James in this christmas special as we will see his character act very different after the death of his sidekick The Translator and not forgetting the Abduction of his earlier companion Laura Shapinton.  After his other character comical success in series 1 of The Detective for this christmas special Lewis Wheelhouse will also be respiring his role as Colin from the comedy double act Collin and Barry.

Lewis Wheelhouse: "It's great to be back and I have known for a while now that we
was going to do another christmas special because we got a fantastic rating on last
years christmas special. I have really enjoyed working on this years christmas
special because we got that chance to go on location a lot in this episode and the
story is brilliant and we have got such a brilliant cast and crew to make this show
                                                                  great".

Val Wheelhouse

Character: Mrs Lyons and Barry (from Colin & Barry)

Val is a newcomer to the series towards the direction of the acting side of the show because she has been apart of the crew for the series however she has played some cameos in the series as well as  the small part as Barry From Colin and Barry. Val Will be an important character to the series as she will be playing the part of Mrs Lyons. Val is also respiring her role as Barry from Colin and Barry in this christmas episode to lighten up the mood and add a christmasy feel to the episode.

Val Wheelhouse: "I've really enjoyed making this film because its been quite exiting this year and I have done more acting than behind the scenes. As well as acting in the film I am of course working behind the scenes and I really can't wait for this film to come out because this is of course a christmas special and this episode has got some dark features in it but I assure you that it is a festive episode for all the family to enjoy".

Character: The Man In Black

After Ashley's success at the end of series 1's cliff hanger and the jaw dropping ending of last years christmas special leaving Detective James broken hearted The Man in Black returns in this years christmas special but the question is who is he pointing the gun at this time and will it end disgracefully once again.

Ashley Wheelhouse: "This years christmas special was really good because it's set in period drama and I think Lewis wrote the episode perfect. My character is really dark and has a lot of aggression in him in which you shall see in the episode
and if I am honest with you he is certainly crazy".

Character: The Little Girl

This is Evelyn's first time playing a cameo to the show however she has played a very small cameo as a 3rd balaclava man in series 1 however due to the story taking a different direction we did not see anything else from the 3rd balaclava man. In this Christmas episode Evelyn is playing a little girl who is at a young age in her life but her character in only a cameo in the series however her character comes in
on a very funny scene with Colin and Barry within the Christmas Episode.

Evelyn Wheelhouse: "In the episode I play a little Girl on a scooter and in the scene my scooter gets taken off me by Barry because I said that he has got a big fat bum in the episode. My favourite scene in the episode is when Barry gets stuck up the chimney because it's really funny and I enjoyed working with Lewis and Val on set as they was funny".

This christmas Episode is a great show for the family because it has a lot of christmas features in it as well as a lot of dark scenes. The Episode is an adaptation of A Christmas carol originally written by Charles Dickens as in our modern 21st century version Detective James chooses to rule his life down a miserable path but can Mrs Lyons change his attitude before christmas time.
